Mountain scenery in Ketep 5 Pass in Magelang

Mountain scenery in Ketep 5 Pass in Magelang

Ketep Pass attractions located in Magelang regency, Central Java. At an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level, Ketep Pass offers beautiful views of Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu in the distance - especially when the weather is sunny.

The view from the top Ketep Pass. (Olenka Priyadarsani) In addition, you can also feast for the eyes to see the other three mountains, namely Sindoro, Cleft, and Slamet. When the views of five mountain is not enough, you will still be able to see some of the hills, namely Bukit Tidar, Andong, Menoreh, and Telomoyo.Di addition, a stretch of agricultural land that surrounds this tourist sites were also lovely. Green everywhere visible. Unfortunately, sometimes dense fog that blanketed the landscape was blocked (like when I last went there).

In Ketep Pass there is a volcanology museum. Inside the museum there are miniature Mount Merapi along with examples of rocks that came out his stomach. Manager also plays a documentary about the activities of Mt Merapi, which tells about the origin, climbing routes, as well as some of the eruption of Mount Merapi.

Many sellers of food and soft drinks here. (Olenka Priyadarsani) To see more clearly the five mountains, two binoculars are available, namely in view of the substation and at the top of the Panca Arga - the highest location (which means five of the mountain, because from here visitors can see five mountain time).

Attraction that opened in 2002 is located about 30 km from the city of Manila and 35 km from Boyolali. This location is also only about 30 km from Borobudur.

Good road access from Magelang and Boyolali can be passed by large vehicles. Although the winding road condition is quite smooth. Traffic heading Ketep quite crowded especially during weekends or holidays.

For those of you who like adventure, Ketep also very easy to reach from Yogyakarta on a motorcycle, because the distance is only 43 km. You can as well visit to Borobudur, Mendut, and Kopeng.
